Thanks for attending our fall 2020 gospel meeting with Jim Stauffer
Thanks to everyone who attended our fall 2020 gospel meeting (October 11-14). Jim Stauffer of Lenexa, Kansas delivered several edifying lessons:
Behold, the Kingdom (Sunday 10 a.m.)
God's view of gender (Sunday 4 p.m.)
What one can be yet still be lost (Monday 7 p.m.)
A sacrificial God requires sacrificial children (Tuesday 7 p.m.)
The real reward of heaven (Wednesday 7 p.m.)
Because many of us have had reduced opportunities to gather with fellow Christians this year, it was especially good to see so many take an interest in God's word. If you missed a lesson for whatever lesson, all of the them are available on our YouTube channel.
Meeting schedule updated in response to COVID-19 (October 2020)
In an effort to minimize COVID-19 risk, the River Ridge church of Christ is currently offering a limited service schedule:
Sunday morning worship at 10:00 a.m.
Sunday afternoon worship at 4:00 p.m. (Auditorium seating and common touchpoints in the building will be sanitized between services).
Wednesday evening Bible study at 7:00
These decisions were made in order to comply with state and federal guidelines regarding COVID-19 while still offering worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) as God has commanded. Visitors are welcome and can call 812.550.6234 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
Face coverings are strongly encouraged, and anyone dealing with fever or other symptoms of illness is requested to stay home. Our auditorium seating has been rearranged to encourage social distancing. Those who need to worship remotely may access our livestreams on our YouTube channel.
Previously announced changes in response to COVID-19 are also still in effect:
Sunday morning Bible class has not been reinstated yet.
Wednesday evening class is a combined session for children and adults in the auditorium (small-format classes in the individual classrooms are not reinstated yet).
Communion kits are available for pickup. Members can contact Matt to make arrangements.
Iron sharpens iron
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another - Proverbs 27:17
As of February 2020, our multimedia efforts are being refreshed and relaunched under a new title - Iron sharpens iron. This title is inspired by the popular verse in Proverbs and is a reminder of our proper attitude in all of our studies - we are all more effective Bible students when everyone contributes. Our efforts will still be grounded in God's word and rich with Bible verses and references.
Our weekly bulletin has already relaunched with this new format, and our TV and radio efforts will relaunch within the next few weeks. We are still:
Mailing weekly bulletins to Bible students across the community
Sending out mail-based correspondence courses to eager learners
Broadcasting a weekly TV program at 9:30 a.m. on Fox 44
Hosting a weekly radio show on 98.5 FM (1400 AM)
Contact us at 812.550.6234 or email@example.com to sign up for the bulletin mailing list or the correspondence course. Please join us as we continue studying throughout 2020!
Please welcome our new evangelist Jeremy Nettles
After a robust search process, we are pleased to announce that Jeremy Nettles has been hired as our new evangelist. He and his family moved to the community this month from Illinois. We enthusiastically look forward to working with Jeremy, his wife Harley and their four children in joint service to the Lord.
We'll be refreshing our bulletin, radio and TV efforts over the next several weeks as Jeremy gets up to speed in his new position. For ever day the Lord grants us, we know 2020 will abount with opportunitites to serve.

Continuing our evangelistic efforts
As many know, our longtime evangelist Chuck Bartlett has amicably left his position at River Ridge after 11 years to work with a congregation near St. Louis, Missouri. We wish Chuck and his wife Debbie well in their new endeavor - they were both strong Christians and good friends to many during their time in Indiana.
With that said, rest assured that the evangelistic work of this congregation continues (Acts 8:4):
Preaching and teaching: Our normal schedule of classes and services will continue at River Ridge. They will primarily be taught by our members, though area preachers may also participate from time to time.
Bulletin: The weekly bulletin will continue to be printed and mailed. It will feature a mix of older articles and new ones.
Television program: The weekly TV program will continue to air. Chuck has provided the station with enough programs to get through March 2020.
Radio program: We are currently negotiating with WEOA over the future of the radio program and will make an announcement shortly.
We appreciate your patience over the next few weeks and invite you to see that the gospel is still being boldly proclaimed (Acts 28:31).
No YouTube broadcasts on August 18, 2019
Please note that we will not be broadcasting our services on August 18. Members can contact Dan or Matt to receive a recorded copy of the service.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Broadcasts will resume as normal on Wednesday, August 21.
“[A Living Sacrifice] Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”(Daily Reading, ESV)
